Knife enabled serious violence has risen by sixteen per cent across the Northumbria Police area, with one thousand one hundred and seventy nine incidents recorded in the twelve months to May twenty twenty six.
Robbery also rose sharply, while homicides and hospital admissions among under twenty fives for assault with a sharp object fell. The figures are part of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s latest update on serious violence.
