Former Liverpool player and cult hero Divock Origi has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 31. His departure marks the end of a career that provided some of the most memorable moments in the club's modern history. Throughout his tenure at Anfield, the Belgian international made 175 appearances for the Reds, scoring 41 goals. Origi became a fan favorite through his ability to perform during the biggest occasions. His most famous contributions occurred during Liverpool’s 2019 Champions League campaign, where he scored twice in a 4-0 semi-final victory over Barcelona and also found the net in the final against Tottenham Hotspur.
Additionally, Origi maintained a strong record against Everton, scoring six goals in 11 Premier League appearances against Liverpool's city rivals. Outside of his time with the Reds, Origi also spent time with AC Milan and had a loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
On the international stage, he earned 32 caps for Belgium, scoring three goals. He also represented his country at the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 European Championships.
