Following the match, Iraola expressed his dissatisfaction with the team's performance, particularly regarding their lackluster opening half. "The first half has been poor from our side," Iraola stated. While he noted that the team failed to maintain sufficient control of the game early on, he acknowledged a tangible shift in momentum after halftime.
"I think we improved a lot in the second half," the manager said. He credited the squad with playing with increased intensity, faster movement, and a greater sense of urgency. Despite the improvements and a more competitive second period, Iraola noted that the performance still fell short of what was required to secure all three points. He attributed the result squarely to the team's subpar opening effort. The manager admitted feeling frustrated by the draw, especially given the importance of winning matches at home.
While acknowledging that the team has previously managed to rally in matches where they were behind, such as against Newcastle, Iraola emphasized that success is ultimately defined by points on the table. "At the end, what makes the difference are the wins, are the three points," he concluded. Despite acknowledging the positive aspects of his team's second-half resurgence, the inability to complete a comeback left the manager disappointed.
