Liverpool City Council has launched a new programme offering twenty nine paid apprenticeships to young residents, with applications open until the first of September. Roles range from digital content and ICT to housing, parks, health and social care, giving young people the chance to earn the real Living Wage while gaining qualifications and practical experience.
Liverpool City Council has launched the 'Liverpool Young Futures' program, providing 29 paid apprenticeship roles across various departments. This initiative is designed to help participants gain valuable workplace experience while they work toward a nationally recognized qualification. The roles encompass a wide range of fields, including marketing, digital content creation, ICT, environmental health, emergency resilience, housing, parks and green spaces, health and social care, and venue operations.
This program is open to Liverpool residents aged 16 to 20, though some positions are available to applicants up to age 24, particularly those with a care background or an education, health, and care plan. The council emphasizes that all apprentices will be paid a real living wage for their work. The application window is open from August 19 through September 1, and the process is designed for simplicity; candidates need only submit one application, regardless of the number of roles they wish to be considered for, and can specify their preferences later in the recruitment process.
To support interested individuals, the council is hosting an open event on August 19 at the Liverpool Town Hall from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This session offers potential applicants the opportunity to meet with hiring managers and ask specific questions about the available roles and the program in general.
This initiative builds upon the local authority's existing apprenticeship efforts, aiming to further expand career development paths within the public sector.
