LINK SCRIPT: Gatwick Airport’s second runway can now be brought into full use after the Court of Appeal dismissed a legal challenge against the expansion project, bringing years of uncertainty to an end. The two point two billion pound expansion, approved by the Transport Secretary in September, will see the West Sussex airport move its emergency runway twelve metres north. From twenty thirty, the expansion will allow for one hundred thousand additional flights a year, increasing passenger choice.
